Ardco (Associated Refuse Disposal Co., later known widely as Ardco Fine Quality Dallas) was a major American importing company based in Dallas, Texas. While Ardco designed and marketed the pieces they were hand-painted by manufacturing workshops in Japan (and later Taiwan), which accounts for the common "Made in Japan" or "Ardco Fine Quality Dallas" gold foil stickers originally found on the bases.
