A substantial patinated bronze sculpture measuring 30" H x 30" W x 20" D, after Frederic Remington’s legendary 1902 masterpiece, “Coming Through the Rye” (alternatively known as “Off the Range”). Depicts a quartet of animated cowboys atop galloping horses, brandishing pistols in mid-celebration. The complex composition achieves Remington's signature engineering feat, balancing the immense weight of the horses with only a fraction of their hooves making contact with the ground. This premium-quality casting was executed using the traditional lost-wax process, ensuring exceptional crispness to the textured leather chaps, reins, dynamic facial expressions, and anatomical details. The bronze is mounted upon a contoured, multi-tiered green marble base featuring a polished brass title plaque inscribed: "Coming Thru the Rye by Frederic Remington" .INSCRIPTIONS & PROVENANCE: Accompanied by the original physical Certificate of Authenticity issued by Gala Publications, Los Angeles, CA. Formally designated as a precise recase edition, cast circa 1984. Individually hand-numbered 21 out of a strictly capped limited edition of 100 (#21/100). CONDITION REPORT:Excellent vintage condition. The bronze features a rich, multi-toned brown and golden-brown patina with minimal signs of surface wear or oxidation. The intricate elements (including the delicate pistols and reins) remain structurally intact and unbent. The polished marble base is securely affixed with no notable chips, structural fractures, or deep scratching. Minor, expected dust accumulation to the recessed crevices. Weighs apporx. 75lbs, specialized freight or local pickup is required.
