Hand-woven wool pictorial textile in a runner format. Measures 77" x 35" (approx. 6.4' x 2.9'). Circa 1930. Features eight distinct stylized Yei (holy spirit) figures standing in a row on a natural cream wool ground. The figures are rendered in vibrant orange, deep red, brown, and green hand-spun wool, each holding sacred corn stalks and feathers. The composition is bordered on three sides by an elongated, protective Rainbow Guardian deity figure, with an orange and dark brown linear band running along the bottom edge. Condition report: Exhibits a distinct circular stain on the natural cream ground at the bottom-middle center, just above the lower border band. Otherwise good historical condition for its age.
