Masterwork by Jean Louis Mor??, 18K Gold Painted Enamel.

4.2*3.2cm Wt:22.8g
Jean Louis Mor?? (1764?), was a Swiss watchmaker born in Geneva, a contemporary of the celebrated Abraham?Louis Breguet. Both men created timepieces for the Tsar, one example of which is now held in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Mor??'s watchmaking aesthetic bears striking similarities to Breguet's: it employs Breguet?style hands, Breguet numerals, finely chased dials, enamel decoration and sophisticated mechanical movements, leaving a memorable impression. The obverse of this pocket watch is set with natural pearls, with Paris?knurled guilloch?? work at the dial centre. Blued?steel Breguet hands, Breguet?style numerals and the enamel dial exhibit exceptional refinement. The reverse is likewise set with natural pearls and centred by a miniature enamel painting. Crafted entirely in 18K gold, the pocket watch exudes opulence.

ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS, WITH NO RETURNS, REFUNDS, OR CANCELLATIONS.

Condition and Authenticity:

Any statement in the catalogue, condition report, photographs, video, invoice, or other written or oral communication regarding the origin, date, age, attribution, authorship, authenticity, provenance, material, condition, or estimated selling price of any lot is a statement of opinion only.
