Quarter Repeater Pocket Watch with Automaton & Enamel Decoration. <br><br>D:60mm<br>Period: 1810 Material: 15.6K Gold, Enamel Dial Signature: Gedeon Petit a' Gene've Movement Signature: Gedeon Petit a' Gene've 88923 Dimensions: Diameter 60 mm Origin: Switzerland Description This pocket watch features a transparent dial inset with white enamel. The white enamel section is marked with twelve black Arabic numerals, bears the dial signature, and is fitted with two Breguet-style brass hands. Through the transparent dial, one may admire the movement's openwork three-colour gold sculpted automaton mechanism: two striking cherubs standing upon the cornucopia of Fortune, alongside a Cupid keeping company with a bow, doves and butterflies. The watch chimes on the hour and quarter-hour, with the two cherubs performing automatic striking movements. The case back is decorated with a miniature enamel portrait of a young French noble gentleman dressed in 18th?century attire.
