Umbrella-Shaped Brooch. 5.5*2.1cm Wt:8.8g Modelled after a folded Victorian?style parasol, it is scaled down yet full of expressive tension. Executed as a cohesive whole from the enamelled canopy at the tip, through the open?work parasol rim, down to the curled handle, it resembles a miniature antique parasol meant to be held in the palm. The base enamel is a soft creamy?white with a fine lustrous porcelain?like finish. Multiple rubies accent the centres of blue?enamel four?leaf?clover motifs, acting as ornamental trims along the rim. The striking colour contrast instantly animates the entire piece. A bow ornament adorns the handle, perfectly evoking the refined grace of 19th?century European aristocratic ladies.
