An authentic, mid-century Canadian folk art wood sculpture hand-carved by the renowned Paul-Émile Caron Studios in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, Quebec.Subject: Features an elderly rural habitant man wearing a hat and suit jacket. He holds a meticulously carved basket in one hand and a suitcase or parcel in the other.Markings: The name "Caron" is clearly hand-incised into the front of the wooden base. The underside features its original red felt pad stamped with the studio model registration number "117-1" and French makers text: "Fait à la main" (Handmade).Dimensions: Stands approximately 9.5 inches tall on a solid, faceted carved base.
