Measures 16 x 16" Unit: The 12th Regiment of Foot, an infantry regiment of the British Army raised in 1685 (later designated the Suffolk Regiment in 1881). Battle of Minden (1759): Fought on August 1, 1759, during the Seven Years' War, where the 12th Foot was one of the six famous British infantry regiments that famously advanced without orders to rout French cavalry. Soldiers famously plucked wild roses from the hedgerows and stuck them in their coats during the fight, commemorated annually as Minden Day
