and Axe, Made in Japan. A porcelain decanter modeled as an old cowhand in fringed jacket and chaps, seated on a rock with a lariat in hand and an axe at his boot. The bisque surface is softly painted, and the sculptor gave the weathered face and drooping moustache genuine character. Stands approximately 13 inches; a printed verse plaque is fitted to the back of the base and the underside carries a Container Made in Japan seal, the embossed lettering now too faint to read. The front label is largely worn away and the maker is unidentified. See photos for exact size and condition. Condition: Shippable.
