1942 Mercury dime (Winged Liberty Head), Philadelphia mint — no mint mark visible on the reverse to the left of the fasces.90% silver, 2.5 g. Mintage 205,410,000 “Broken nose”The flattened, darkened area through Liberty’s nose and cheek is ordinary wear plus a common late-state die crack. Mercury dime dies frequently cracked across the face, cap, and neck. That feature is a die-stage marker on some varieties; it is not a separately collected “broken nose” error and does not add a premium in this grade. Fine-12 to Very Fine-20.
