1997 Logo Athletic Chicago Bulls NBA Championship Official Locker Room Snapback Hat / Cap (With Original Retail Tags) (New Old Stock - NOS / Deadstock). An original period championship cap preserved in remarkable New Old Stock / Deadstock condition with its original retail and NBA licensing tags still attached. Produced by Logo Athletic as an Official NBA Locker Room Cap, this striking all black snapback features an elaborate embroidered championship design incorporating the Chicago Bulls logo, "1997 NBA Champions" lettering and Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy imagery, along with additional embroidered graphics wrapping around the crown for tremendous display appeal. Particularly impressive is the survival of the original attached Logo Athletic tag, NBA Official Licensed Product hologram tag and Official NBA Locker Room Cap championship tag, giving the hat the appearance of an example preserved unworn since the Bulls dynasty was still unfolding. The cap commemorates the legendary 1996 to 1997 Chicago Bulls, led by Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman under head coach Phil Jackson, who followed their historic 72 win championship season by going 69 and 13 and capturing their fifth NBA championship. Jordan once again led the NBA in scoring and guided Chicago through the playoffs to a Finals showdown with Karl Malone, John Stockton and the Utah Jazz, a series immortalized by some of the defining moments of Jordan's career. His legendary "Flu Game" in Game 5, in which he scored 38 points despite being visibly exhausted and ill, remains one of the most celebrated performances in NBA history, and Chicago completed the championship run in Game 6 when Steve Kerr buried the title winning jumper off a Jordan assist. Jordan earned his fifth NBA Finals MVP Award, while the victory gave Chicago its second consecutive championship and placed the club one title away from completing its second three peat. Official locker room championship apparel holds a special place in basketball collecting because these designs are directly associated with the immediate celebration of an NBA title, and finding an original example nearly three decades later still retaining its period retail tags in unused deadstock condition is especially appealing. Combining bold 1990s Logo Athletic styling, official NBA licensing, exceptional preservation and a direct connection to the heart of the Michael Jordan Bulls dynasty, this spectacular cap represents a tremendous addition to any Chicago Bulls, Michael Jordan, vintage NBA, 1990s sportswear or championship memorabilia collection.
