GSID: 174.1796 Make: British Webley & Scott Model: Mark VI Naval Marked Serial #: 98928 Caliber: .455 Webley Barrel Length: 6" Low Estimate: 1,500.00 High Estimate: 2,500.00 Scarce English WW I era Webley & Scott Mark VI double action revolver with naval broad arrow marking on the top strap, .455 Webley cal., top break, six shot, military proofed revolver with a 6" slab sided barrel. The barrel, frame and cylinder all display matching serial numbers. The revolver is in very fine overall condition, retaining approx 65-70% blue finish drifting to dark patina. The smooth walnut grips are old replacements in fine condition with lanyard loop on the butt and woven WWI US lanyard cord and clip. The revolver shows numerous broad arrow markings, Birmingham view, proof and inspection marks. The left side of the frame is marked, "WEBLEY / MARK IV / PATENTS". The top strap displays a Naval broad arrow proof or "Crow Foot" mark. The bore is fine with well-defined rifling. The action functions well and locks up securely. (C&R).
