Dating to the early-to-mid 20th century, this vintage wooden agricultural crate features prominent black stenciling that reads "GROWERS MARKETING CO. / CITY MARKET - LOS ANGELES" across both long sides. Constructed of nailed solid wood planks, the piece incorporates a slatted side and bottom design, reinforced interior side braces, integrated handle cutouts on each end, and structural bottom runner skids. The crate exhibits moderate wear consistent with age and rugged commercial use, including surface scratches, scuffs, edge abrasions, and general wood discoloration. Natural wood imperfections are present, most notably a prominent dark knot disrupting the stenciled text on one of the side panels. Normal surface oxidation is visible on the exposed nail heads.
