Handmade Repurposed Denim King Size Patchwork Quilt This substantial handmade quilt is constructed from repurposed blue denim, assembled in a patchwork arrangement of varying rectangular and square panels. Natural differences in the denim create an appealing range of medium to faded blue tones, with original seams, stitching, fading, and subtle variations from the reused fabric adding to its one-of-a-kind character. The quilt is worked throughout with a repeating diamond-pattern stitch, visible across both the denim face and the reverse. The stitching has the irregularity and character associated with handwork and gives the otherwise simple denim patchwork an attractive geometric texture. The reverse is backed in white and blue-gray striped ticking-style fabric, providing a classic complement to the denim front. The contrasting backing, visible hand stitching, and utilitarian use of repurposed material give the quilt a wonderful homespun, farmhouse, and traditional American textile appeal.
