Pixel Format HDMI EDID tells Windows that it is a monitor of the specified resolution, and then passes through the video data to your real monitor. Even turn off or disconnect the real one, the device will tell Windows that it is still connected and Windows will not try to rearrange things. It does in fact work with DP to HDMI adapters flawlessly. Using it with not always connected to a screen clients (Mac mini, raspberry Pi, NUC, Jetson Nano) connected to a 3840p monitor. Enables each device to keep the EDID of the monitor active when remotely accessing them, works for purpose. Worked great - This fixed desktop rearrangement when turning off surround sound receiver. Computer stays on as it's running Windows 8.1 with Media Center. Also can be used as a dummy plug, just plug a monitor into it once and then remove that monitor! Keeping the EDID consistent - Used for when renegotiate every time either the sink or the source would start, stop, switch or else. It still passes through the video and audio correctly (tested in 2-channel stereo). Accelerates the negotiation when the display is frequently off. Avoid distorted image - When no software workaround, plugged this adapter between the HDMI switch and work laptop and it changes the EDID, gets the option back in Windows. No more distorted image!
