A pair of vintage offset lithograph prints by American illustrator Arthur Sarnoff, titled The Scratching Beagle and The Hustler. Both compositions feature Sarnoff's characteristic anthropomorphic dogs playing pool in a mid-century style. The Scratching Beagle is housed in a black frame and includes the printed title and attribution BY ARTHUR SARNOFF along the lower margin, as well as a publisher's copyright notice for Arthur A. Kaplan Co., Inc., N. Y. C. H-9991 and the notation LITHO IN U.S.A. The Hustler is presented in a gold-toned frame with the printed title and attribution in the lower margin. Both prints exhibit the artist's signature within the image area and display a halftone dot pattern characteristic of the offset lithography process. Condition: Both prints show visible horizontal creasing and paper toning consistent with age. The Scratching Beagle has some minor surface wear and the frames show light scuffing.
