Variety of Reel-to-Reel Tapes PLUS an Akai Player

This lot is for an assortment of mostly easy listening Reel-to-Reel tapes. See photos for more title details of the tapes. It also includes a reel-to-reel player. We did turn on the Akai and it did operate and go forward and reverse, etc.... We did not hook it to speakers to check the sound. Vintage Akai Model X-2000S combination tape recorder, complete with its original box. This impressive all-in-one audio unit combines a reel-to-reel tape recorder, 8-track cartridge player/recorder, and cassette recorder in a single machine. Made in Japan. A great piece of vintage audio equipment from Akai and an unusual model for collectors of classic stereo components and recording equipment. The system does have it's own built in amp so all you need are external speakers. Here are some specs about the system: 3-in-1 vintage tape system — reel-to-reel, 8-track cartridge and compact cassette, Built-in amplifier for connecting external speakers, Reel-to-reel recording and playback, Cassette recording and playback, 8-track cartridge recording and playback, Stereo operation, Separate level controls and VU meters, Headphone connection, Multiple inputs/outputs for use with other stereo equipment, Large, substantial component typical of Akai’s higher-end tape equipment of the period, Original box included. Unit shows normal age-related wear consistent with vintage use. Original box is included and shows expected storage wear. The photo of the tape machine is a stock photo from the internet, so you will have a good idea of how it appears. We failed to get a photo while we had it out of the box. Honestly, this lot is probably valued at more that $500 considering the price of vintage reel-to-reel tapes.
