A finely executed watercolour depicting an Argentine domador (horse tamer or gaucho), dressed in traditional South American riding attire complete with braided sash, decorative belt, boots and lariat. The solitary figure is rendered with careful attention to costume and ethnographic detail against a minimalist background that emphasizes both the subject and the elegance of the composition. The inscription "Rep. Argentina" suggests the work was created as part of a series illustrating traditional dress and cultural figures from different countries.
