19th / Early 20th Century. Original antique portrait depicting a young boy in formal attire, housed in an oval wooden frame with convex glass. Hand-painted decorative background with floral motifs, typical of late 19th to early 20th century portraiture. Photographic portrait with hand-painted elements, a common technique of the period. Backing reinforced with cardboard and hanging wire; old repairs and tape visible, consistent with age. Condition: noticeable age-related wear including scratches and haze on glass, surface wear and small losses to the frame – genuine antique character and patina.
