Original signed mixed-media portrait artwork by Joan Hanet, depicting a seated woman wearing an oversized decorated hat and a red-and-white striped garment. The lower-right corner is clearly hand-signed “Joan Hanet.” I found independent auction evidence for an artist under this exact name: a recent MaxSold catalogue identifies another work as a “Whimsical Joan Hanet Watercolor Painting ‘Pet Shop’ C.1970.” This supports Joan Hanet as an artist associated with original figurative/whimsical artwork, although I cannot conclusively establish that the auctioned watercolor and this mixed-media piece are by the same individual solely from online records.
