The 2016 American Gold Eagle 1/4 oz ($10 Face Value) is struck by the United States Mint in 22-karat (.9167 fine) gold, containing 1/4 troy ounce of pure gold. The obverse features Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ iconic Lady Liberty design, while the reverse depicts a bald eagle nesting with its mate and eaglets, clutching olive branches to symbolize strength and family.
