Striking vintage mid-century cigarette dispenser designed as a stylized lotus flower with a strong Art Deco influence. Crafted from lacquered metal and brass with alternating glossy black and gold petals, brass trim and a decorative central cluster of individual cigarette holders. Features an ingenious spring-action mechanism: when the top handle is operated, the tightly closed bud opens and the petals fan outward to reveal the cigarette holders, creating a dramatic floral display. When closed, the petals form a compact lotus-bud shape. An unusual example of mid-century smoking accessories with an elegant Machine Age-inspired design. Good vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear, scratches and areas of finish loss. 8" x 4" closed.
