Design: Elsi Bourelius (1920–2007) Mid-Century Modern glazed ceramic soliflore (single-flower vase) in the form of a bonneted Scandinavian woman wearing a traditional green dress with white apron. Designed by noted Swedish ceramic artist Elsi Bourelius for JIE Gantofta, one of Sweden's best-known pottery studios. Original factory label to underside: "JIE Gantofta Sweden – Design Elsi Bourelius." Bourelius is well known for her stylized Scandinavian figures and decorative ceramics produced during the 1960s and 1970s. Height: 11½ in. (29 cm)
