Size - 166" x 114" (13' 10" x 9'6") Exceptional hand-knotted Persian rug featuring the classic Herati (Mahi/Fish) all-over pattern. The densely woven navy field is filled with repeating Herati floral motifs in red, ivory, and light blue, framed by traditional Persian palmette and floral borders. This timeless Persian design is associated with renowned weaving centers such as Tabriz and Bijar. The repeating field is composed of: Small Herati rosettes arranged in a lattice. Curved fish-shaped (boteh-like) leaves surrounding each flower. A continuous all-over repeating design rather than a large central medallion. A classic Persian palmette and floral main border.
