Please take the time to read the information provided to understand what the fundraising is for, and why this auction is so important. Rideau Park Personal Care Home is fundraising to support their homelike projects. All homelike projects are chosen by the residents. Some of the homelike projects that have been completed are door wraps or murals. These murals look like traditional front doors and have been installed on each residents "front door" to their room – there was over 20 options to choose from and any colour could be selected – no charge was presented to any resident to receive a door wrap. We have also had spa door wraps installed for our tub rooms. Laundry door wraps and staff washroom door wraps. We have 100 private rooms at Rideau Park PCH that are divided into an East and a West Unit. When going to the east unit, a large mural has been installed of the Brandon water tower. To the west, the mural is of Brandon University. Each unit has a north and south – East north – East south – West north – West south. This can lead to some confusion for visitors so we will be installing animal directions. For example – you go to the water tower and follow Blue Bear Blvd to your loved ones room. The animals residents have chosen for this are from the 7 teachings. We have completed makeovers for 2 of our dining rooms. The Lily dining room has a barn board murals on the walls, with small mantels and plants as well as numerous pictures from Brandon’s history. The Crocus dining room has a large framed wheat mural with several agricultural pictures to compliment it on one side and a picture gallery on the other side, with accents of tea cups on high ledges. We also have two interactive mural areas – one area has a tree of all seasons that can be updated throughout the year. The other mural has flowers that can be picked and put into the flower box, although many times we find them in other areas as some residents find joy in picking flowers and giving them to others. All these projects have been funded by generous donations and the residents are extremely appreciative of the changes that have been happening. Some of the projects the residents have discussed include a makeover for the resident back courtyard, potentially even installing a gazebo. Makeovers for the tub rooms to have a more spa like and relaxing atmosphere. While no specific project has been chosen at this time, we are all excited to see what the residents will decide to make it more homelike.
