John Sharon (1921-1998) Toledo, OH c.1960's Drake 7" tall on scene | Hen 6.25" tall on scene Sharon was a respected regional decoy carver whose work is particularly collected in the miniature-carving category. Sharon was included in the Midwest Decoy Collectors Association’s 2017 exhibition of miniature carvings by highly regarded Midwestern makers. Prior to miniatures, he was also known for carving full size working decoys. His miniatures represent his most vibrant legacy having made quality but relatively few miniatures making them hard to acquire. 1/3 size. Standing on driftwood bases with carved feet. Both have glass eyes, carved bills, and carved feathering on the back. Drake has comb feathering on the sides.
