George Strunk (b.1958) Glendora, NJ c.2023 18.5" Long | 23" wingspan Regarded not just as one of New Jersey's leading contemporary carvers, but truly recognized as a premier carver across North America. Strunk's carvings reside in some of the premier collections, museums, and even hunting rigs across North America. Even having decoys in presidential collections, including the late Jimmy Carter. His work is admired for it's vibrancy in paint, sculpture, and exacting detail as displayed in this very well executed widgeon pair. Taking up large amounts of wood and time, Strunk has made relatively few fliers, making this an excellent opportunity to buy a very hard to find pair in excellent condition. Life-size and hollow carved with relief carved primary feathering across the wings and tail. Nicely carved bills with glass eyes.
