Wiss, Compton, and Kleencut manufacturers; first appearances of the U-Set model c. 1941; forged steel construction. This mid-century industrial group features pinking shears stamped WISS CB 7 U.S.A. and tailor shears marked COMPTON U SETalongside a decorative logo reading COMPTON U-SET PAT 10-21-41. One pair displays an impressed oval WISS NEWARK, N.J. U.S.A. mark, while others bear the stamp KLEENCUT U.S.A. and COMPTON NEWARK N.J. Sizes range from approximately 4 inchesto 12 inches in overall length.Tools display a character reflective of age and mid-century utility. Metal surfaces remain solid with clear maker marks. Black handles show authentic patina expected from industrial garment work.
