Rome Manufacturing Company, Rome, NY; early water ware series, circa 1900. This vintage kettle features a gooseneck spout, wrought iron handle, and turned wood grip. The brass handle brackets are impressed with ROME over N.Y. in aclover-shaped cartouche. It retains the matching original lid and features a classic crimped bottom seam. Measures approximately 14 x 8 inches excluding the top handle; bottom measures 10.5 inches round. This antique kettle displays a warm aged patina and authentic verdigris (photo 5). The body shows shallow use-dents and a slightly distorted spout tip (photo 3). Wooden grip remains sound (photo 1).
