This nineteenth-century American primitive storage chest features an arched dome-top lid and pegged construction. Crafted from softwood with a reddish-brown stain, the piece retains its original iron hardware including a surface-mounted lock plate. The interior consists of natural, unfinished pine planks. It displays an aged patina consistent with historical utilitarian use. 11 inches tall by 31 inches long by 14.5 inches wide. Fair antique condition. A full-length structural crack divides the lid joinery. Numerous surface scratches, finish losses, and edge chips are present. Hardware shows heavy oxidation and pitting.
