This 19th-century American country blanket chest features a stained hardwood exterior with yellow poplar secondary wood. The carcass utilizes through-dovetail joinery, and the lid is finished with breadboard ends. It rests on a molded base with scroll-cut bracket feet and contains an interior storage till. The front features a metal keyhole escutcheon for the mortised lock. 22 inches tall by 37.5 inches wide by 18.5 inches deep. The lid shows circular water stains and dark spills. A horizontal scratch is visible on the front panel. The bracket feet exhibit scuffing and finish loss. Joinery shows minor separation.
