Set of 4 Mid-Century “Bowtie" chairs by McCobb

4 mid-century modern "Bowtie" dining chairs from the Planner Group designed by Paul McCobb for Winchendon Furniture during the 1950s. Chairs Feature a distinctive flared, winged "bow tie" top rail and slender tapered legs: Solid wood frame (commonly maple) with an upholstered drop-in seat pad. All 4 chairs need work—The wooden frame shows visible surface wear, scuffs, and patina consistent with age, and the seat retains a vintage textured fabric that is ready for restoration or reupholstery. Several side supports need replacing and one needs rear legs tightened. Chairs are not marked but per AI, recessed oval pockets with angled leg mortises are the exact trademark construction used by Winchendon for McCobb's seating line. Each chair measures approximately 20 1/2 w x 18d x 34 34 1/2 h.
