The first selection is a Remington Rollectric, a vintage electric shaver originally introduced in the 1950s by the Remington Rand Corporation. The item became highly popular for its distinct design but also its “Hidden Beard” Marketing campaign of the time, claiming that the shaver could reach the “hidden beard” below ordinary shaving levels. This direct set comes with its original storage case and a variety of accessories. Unit has been plugged in and can be confirmed that it still turns on. The second item is a Christy “Advertiser” Razor of vintage design. This 1920’s single-edge safety razor was manufactured by The Christy Co. of Fremont Ohio and was distributed as a complimentary promotional item to dealers and customers. The inside lid of the cardboard box features a printed disclaimer stating: “This is a complimentary razor and not to be sold” The razor itself has a long, slender nickel-plated handle, a classic single-edge razor head, and a built-in massage bar meant to smooth the skin before blade cuts. Item still comes in its original box, complete with instructions and blade replacements. Both items are hold great rustic visual presentation. There is obvious wear due to the age of the items due to age but these are great presentation pieces for anyone interested in early barber memorabilia or 50’s mid-century accessory.
