Measures 19” tall. This is likely a vintage cast-iron Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.) veteran grave marker and flag holder, likely dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. These star-shaped markers were placed on the graves of Union Civil War veterans. Design: Five-pointed star shape with a central circular emblem on a metal stake or rod. Purpose: Used to honor military veterans in cemeteries and often feature a ring on the back to hold a memorial flag. Material: Heavy cast iron showing significant rust and weathering consistent with age.
