This is a painting circa 1850's and is a woman. Although we are not positive WHO the woman is, she was originally painted in a pair of miniature paintings by Thomas Hargrave in late 1840's titled "Priscilla". This is a painting and is oval and frame is gilded solid wood and 23" x 27" in size and the painting is on canvas and is 24.5" x 28.5" in size, just a tad smaller than the frame. There is some very minimal blemishing in painting but NO rips, tears or holes and NO major stains. Needs a good cleaning. ON BACK there is a short letter that is taped to art that reads: "PRISCILLA": According to the Publisher, the original of "Priscilla" was in an Antique shop in New England where it had been purchased from a neighborhood family. And it was a painting disclosed and the painting was never signed."
