Its design highlights the iconic wildlife of India, and it remains a popular choice for those building a complete set of the 25 Paise series. 1996 India 25 Paise Rhinoceros Ferritic Stainless Steel Coin KM# 54 Hyderabad Mint Condition: The coin appears to be in circulated condition with visible surface wear and minor scratches consistent with age. The details of the rhinoceros on the reverse and the Ashoka Lion Capital on the obverse remain distinct. There is a slight dulling of the original luster. The mint mark, a star located below the date on the reverse, identifies this as a product of the Hyderabad Mint. The metal content is ferritic stainless steel. This coin is a standard business strike, not a proof or special strike. No professional third-party grading is present. Historically, this series was introduced to feature India's native wildlife, specifically the Great One-Horned Rhinoceros, replacing previous floral or commemorative designs for the 25 paise denomination.
