This is an authentic vintage Fairbanks counterbalanced platform scale featuring a heavy cast iron base, original small iron wheels, and a weathered wood inset platform. The scale includes its vertical wooden column, upper balancing mechanism, and a brass beam graduated from zero to one hundred with a hanging counterweight. Raised lettering on the front of the base clearly reads Fairbanks Patent No 10, adding to its historical value and appeal for collectors. The entire piece shows a beautiful aged patina with uniform surface rust on the iron parts and natural wear on the wooden surfaces, making it an excellent historical display item or rustic statement piece.
