Emerald Green Beryl Crystal in Quartz Matrix

Updated August 29, 2026

Natural emerald gemstone specimen featuring a prominent elongated green emerald crystal embedded within its original mineral matrix. The emerald displays a saturated medium-to-vivid green coloration with translucent areas, natural internal inclusions, longitudinal crystal structure, and an exposed prismatic form extending diagonally through the host rock.

The surrounding matrix is composed of pale crystalline material with darker gray mineral bands and areas of warm orange-brown iron staining, creating strong contrast with the green emerald. Multiple viewing angles reveal the crystal continuing into the matrix, emphasizing that it remains naturally associated with the host material rather than being a loose or mounted gemstone.

An attractive large-format mineral specimen combining natural emerald crystal formation with contrasting matrix, well suited for gemstone, mineralogical, and geological collections.

Condition: Natural unpolished mineral specimen with inherent inclusions, fractures, matrix irregularities, surface deposits, contact points, and weathering consistent with its geological formation and extraction. Please review photographs for exact condition.

Origin: Afghanistan

Mineral: Emerald

Weight: 1,601 ct (approx. 320.2 g)

Dimensions: Approx. 3 x 3 in.

Ref: AB4450
