Carleton Rail Books) Vintage Steam Locomotive Photograph Lot – Approx. 7 Black & White Prints Group of approximately 7original-style black-and-white photographs of classic American steam locomotives and trains. Displayed together on a marble surface for viewing. Visible subjects include: Streamlined steam locomotives under power with heavy smoke Classic steam engines at trackside and in motion Long passenger or freight consists on multi-track mainlines One view appearing to show a train near a station or yard structure Close-up and three-quarter views of locomotive fronts and sides The prints appear to be mid-20th century (roughly 1930s–1950s era subject matter). They are unframed loose photographs of varying but generally similar sizes. Condition looks typical for age — some edge wear, slight curling, and surface marks consistent with storage, but images remain clear and usable for display or collection. BOX 1827 DUNNELLON, FL 32630 About Paul Carleton Paul Carleton was a well-known railroad photographer, collector, and dealer who operated D. Carleton Rail Books out of Dunnellon, Florida. He specialized in steam-era railroad photography and sold original and copy prints of locomotives and trains, primarily from the mid-20th century. His photos (and those he distributed) are commonly found among railroad collectors. Many of the prints bearing his stamp are high-quality black-and-white images of steam locomotives, often from the 1940s–1960s period, though some may be reprints of earlier material.
