This indicates it was produced for a government contract in the year 1986. The handle scales are embossed with "U.S." centered inside a diamond-textured pattern. Manufacturer: While multiple legendary American cutlery companies produced this iconic mil-spec pattern over the decades (including Camillus Cutlery, Queen Cutlery, and Schrade), the standard variant from 1986 was predominantly manufactured by Camillus as the Model 1760. Construction: It features a robust, overbuilt, all-stainless steel frame, including stainless steel scales, back springs, and a heavy-duty lanyard bail (clevis).
