Sony TA-AX550 Integrated Amplifier & Tuner

An assembled pair of matching mid-1980s Sony audio components finished in brushed black metal. The set consists of a TA-AX550 integrated stereo amplifier and an ST-JX450 quartz lock digital synthesizer FM/AM tuner. The amplifier functions as an audio and video control center, featuring dedicated inputs for phono, tuner, CD, and tape recorder, as well as multiple video audio inputs and a graphic equalizer loop. The front panel includes a green LED peak power level display and sliding controls for bass, treble, and balance. The matching tuner features a green-backlit liquid crystal digital display, 20-preset memory, and quartz lock digital synthesis. Rear panels bear printed marks reading SONY MODEL NO. ST-JX450 and SONY MODEL NO. TA-AX550, with both units identified as made in Japan.Height: 8 inchesDepth: 12.75 inchesThe components are in good vintage condition. Both units power on with clear digital displays and indicator lights. A minor scuff is present on the lower-left front corner of the amplifier faceplate near the headphone jack.
