Ceramic Chawan, Tea Bowl or Crock

This is a small glazed ceramic crock or bowl with a rounded, deep form and thick rolled rim. It has a warm cream glaze accented by a blue spongeware-style pattern around the rim and lower edge. The front features a large burgundy-red heart surrounded by simple cobalt-blue leaf or feather-like motifs, giving it a primitive country folk-art appearance. The underside retains labels from Apple Cinnamon Countryside Candles, suggesting it may originally have been sold as a candle container. Dimensions are approximately 3"h x 5 3/4"diameter. Good pre-owned vintage condition with some visible age and use. Minor surface marks and small imperfections are present. No cracks, chips or missing pieces are visible.
