Excellent selection of a framed piece of artwork, perfect for any art enthusiast or collector. This selection is entitled “Aube Rogue” or “Red Dawn”, and it was produced by artist Guillaume Azoulay. The piece captures a stylized horse with a sun in the distance; all set upon a gold leaf backdrop. Ultimately it is a piece that captures a unique sense of fluid and energetic movement. What is most striking about this is that it is a “one-of-a-kind original artwork, not part of a series of prints. This is directly noted because of the written notation of “Esquisse” which is the French word for “sketch” or “study”. Azoulay frequently labels his original preparatory works which are often used as a blueprint for a future etching. Guillaume Azoulay is a self-taught, Moroccan-born artist known as the “King of the Line”. Born in Casablanca in 1949, he began selling his sketches on the street at age 13 and then became the youngest artist to have his works accepted into the infamous Louvre art museum. His style once again focuses on the “purity of line”, using continuous organic lines to create a powerful illusion of fluid motion, depth, and volume. There is often a topographical element where he often treats biological subjects uniquely like landscapes. He is also famous for using continuous lines to complete pictures without ever lifting his pen from the paper. Overall picture is framed, matted and under glass, overall holding great presentation The complete piece measures 19.5” H x 21.5” W with the interior picture measuring approx. 11.5” H x 13.5” W. The left-hand portion of the piece has written “ESQUISSE, AUBE ROGUE” “2013” “ABG”. It appears that ABG points to the artist’s internal catalogue. The right-hand portion appears to hold the artist’s signature. Both the right- and left-hand sides have been signed twice. Artwork also comes with Certificate of Authenticity.
