Dating to WWII, this German Periscopic Sight Housing and Collimator Screen set consists of a main periscopic sight body paired with a separate auxiliary collimator unit. The main periscopic sight unit measures 7 inches high by 6.75 inches long by 3.5inches deep (17.8 cm H x 17.1 cm L x 8.9 cm D). The accompanying collimator screen unit measures 6.25 inches long by 2.75 inches high by 1.75 inches deep (15.9 cm L x 7.0 cm H x 4.4 cm D). Constructed with heavy cast alloy and steel housing components, the main sight features an extended mounting tube, internal reflective mirrors, a hinged protective cover, and side control dials. The mechanical adjustment knobs on the main unit are currently frozen/stuck. The separate olive-green collimator box houses a glass viewing window with an etched central reticle crosshair line. Viewing through the main periscopic unit remains clear via its internal mirror arrangement. Both components feature factory grey field paint over red-oxide primer, displaying age-appropriate paint wear, edge flaking, light oxidation, and natural patina.
