C 1893-1920 sample size medicine bottle embossed MAXWELL & SPALDING, Druggists, Austin, Texas. Glows green in black light due to uranium or manganese content. Pharmacists J.W. Maxwell and J.L. Spalding opened a pharmacy in 1893 in Austin, Texas which was located at the corner of East 6th Street (formerly Pecan Street) and Congress Avenue and appear to have gone out of business about 1920. This is a sample size small bottle of the type to be given away at medicine shows or sold very cheap in hopes of future sales.
