c1950s 1960s Pottery sculpture horned frog aka horny toad made by and signed by House of Webster which was located in Eastland, Texas. These pottery frogs were sold as Texas souvenirs. In 1897, County Clerk Ernest Wood placed his son's pet horned toad, "Blinky," into the cornerstone of Eastland County Courthouse to test the theory that they could survive for 100 years without food or water. When the building was torn down 31 years later, the toad was found alive and subsequently renamed Old Rip He became quite famous and when he died he was preserved in a glass top velvet lined casket and is still displayed at the courthouse.
