Meriden Firearms Company produced single-shot .22 caliber rimfire rifles in the early 20th century primarily as affordable "boy's rifles" or target models for catalog retailers like Sears, Roebuck & Co. These rifles were made from 1905 to 1918. This .22 Short and Long rifle caliber rifle functions as it should and has a fairly decent bore. The piece retains most of it's original color. The walnut stocks are in pretty nice shape with a couple of small dings and one place that came up against a painted surface that can be polished out. This model is believed to be the Military/Cadet Model being a Lightweight, military-styled single-shot training .22 rifles produced for youth use and distributed through the Sears catalog. This piece has the longer forearm typical of the training rifle. It's a nice piece. No serial number present.
