The rear of this crock is very intriguing. There is an impressed eagle with stars and arrows, similar to the badge worn on a Hardee hat during the Civil War along with an impressed name "F.T. Huggans". The front with a freehand "8" above the advertising for a merchant in Allegheny, Pa. The stencil is blurry but appears to read in part, "Dealers in Queensware, China and ...". Followed by the address and the town. The crock appears to have been made in Beaver, but the name and the presence of the eagle on the back are worth more research. 18"H Chips on base.
