Uncommon apple basket stamped on the wood base "Albert J. Nicola Enfield Maine Genuine Penobscot Indian Baskets". Wood handle stamped "Pat Pending". Body of the basket is ash with a wood bottom that has an iron catch released by an iron pin on the side, releasing the apples into a cart. Ca. 1920. Together with a hearth broom with painted highlights, early- 20th century New England souvenir. 17"H x 13 3/4"D Wear to basket on both ends of the handle where it was steam bent. Some breaks and losses to the ribbing. Broom with wear to paint.
