Charming collection of three vintage “Marty Sculpture” Lady Bells by artist Martha Carey, produced by her Vermont-based studio circa the 1970s. These whimsical figural bells are part of the now-retired “Ladies of Vermont” line and showcase the distinctive handcrafted folk-art style associated with Martha Carey’s vintage sculptures. Each lady is molded from chalkware with individually hand-painted facial details that give the figures their own personality and character. Their sculpted coats feature a flocked fabric-like finish with a soft, velvety texture, adding wonderful dimension and visual interest to the pieces. The bell-shaped silhouettes allow these charming Vermont ladies to serve as both decorative figural sculptures and collectible bells. A delightful grouping for collectors of Marty Sculpture, Martha Carey art, Ladies of Vermont figurines, vintage chalkware, 1970s folk art, figural lady bells, Vermont collectibles, hand-painted sculptures, and vintage Americana décor. The retired nature of the line also makes these unusual pieces a wonderful addition to an established collection of Martha Carey’s work. All three are in very good condition. The tallest measures approximately 8" tall. See photos for more details.
